Claire Saffitz Makes Confetti Cake | Dessert Person. Get ready to party! And by party, we mean stay at home and be safe. But fortunately, you need no special …
Hi Claire, can I make one humble recommendation – instead of making icing closer to funfetti-style, would you be able to add a quick recipe for making improved "rainbow chip icing" – it's not available in a good portion of the world, and most of the recipes to make yourself just use a generic white chocolate for the chips (and I know it's not that simple… I've tried both for science :P)
In case it's not available in your area, I will happily send some over. It's in specialty candy shops occasionally with the name "dunkaroos frosting" – another excellent throwback from an adult kid who didn't get them very often.
I'm sure this is almost insultingly below your level of expertise, but we – an underserved but passionate portion of the population – would be forever grateful!
I don’t k ow why but it’s been years since I last watched gourmet makes & I just had the thought in the middle of the night ‚ I really liked Claire what is she up to now ? ‚ & I was not disappointed, still Love your vibes.
I'm doing a Confetti Cake for my son's 2nd birthday party this weekend! Might be more cup cakes. Easier to serve! 😅 Thinking about trying this recipe, but I don't know if I have the time to try something new 🫣 Definitely am taking away a lot of techniques to heart.
I halved the recipe for the cake base and was able to easily make it in a standard 4.5 qt stand mixer and bake it in a 9×13 pan. So moist and tender, and as someone who prefers moistness over loft to my cake it's everything I want. And it was so much easier than fussing with creaming butter and sugar at the beginning! Subbed chocolate jimmy sprinkles and topped it with a half batch of chocolate cream cheese frosting from the birthday cake recipe and it made a perfect, easy, and flavourful chocolate polka dot cake.
Thank god you soaked the cake. I saw such a thick 3 layered cake with such minimal frosting I was thinking “when is a soak going to factor in?”. I guess you do consider everything!
I made this cake exactly as shown here, and it was actually really dry. For anyone watching, I would highly recommend adding anywhere from 1/2 to 1 full cup of mayo to this recipe. You can tell that her cake had to be fairly dry too, because she spreads milk on the layers before she frosts the cake. The flavor is there, but it's like buttery delicious playground sand.
Season 2! Confetti Cake – Perfect for kids, perfect for adults! What is your favorite dessert from childhood?

How much salt in the cream cheese frosting?
Every time Clair mentions or makes a throw back joke about gourmet makes everyone loses their minds
How do you adjust the recipe to use 8” cake pans instead of 9” pans??
I love watching people cooking , her channel is the best🫶🏻
What if I did lemon extract instead of almond extract
Fun fact the shitty sprinkles are called jimmies!
Do you think a European frosting will go well with this cake? If so which one?

Has anyone made this with a 4.5qt kitchenaid? The book says to not use anything less than 5qt but I’m hoping it will be okay 😅
I don’t like box cake.
Wow I want this as my birthday cake lol this looks so good

Do you prefer cream cheese and powdered sugar or buttercream – or italian buttercream?? which is your favorite?
Do you use those cake strips so that the cakes bake evenly???
