I love this soup! It’s so easy and is surprisingly savory given how few seasonings are added. I’ve made it with regular brown/green lentils and with du Puy lentils, it’s great either way.

Thank you for sharing this budget friendly recipe. Budgeting better with my groceries has been heavy on my mind with all the rising prices. This kind of video is so helpful for me and I am sure many others right now. I try to budget best I can but I know I can always learn more. I make cooking videos too so you know I’m making lots of food so every penny I can save on groceries counts. I hope that we can continue to learn from each other. Never stop learning and growing!

    Hi love ur recipes!!

For the oatmeal, Ur video says to stir everything before starting IP but ur written instructions says to stir everything except the mashed bananas, that was last added. Which is best and why? 🙂

For the lentil cabbage recipe, How much vegetable broth to use instead of the bouillon cube?

I like that you don’t like peppers as much as me and still use them.

I wonder if subbing garbanzo beans for the lentils may make it taste more like a minestrone. 😋 🥣

I know this is an old video but I think a great alternative to water for the oatmeal is to make your own oat milk! its super easy to make by using a cup or two of oats and water blended and strained.

My instant pot has completely replaced canned beans for me. I used to hate using dried beans because it took so long to soak and deal with them. Now I get dry beans and lentils in 25lb bags and haven't bought a can of beans in 6 months. It's saved me so much money, and I know what's in my food because I made it from scratch – I can control the salt content, and no gross can goo to rinse off either!

My family and partner said I would use it twice and never touch it again, but now it lives on my kitchen counter and I use it at least twice a week. I mostly use it for beans, since you don't HAVE to soak them, so I don't. If you leave the salt out until the end, they still cook well and get tender.

Because of it I have dahl or Cuban style black beans for breakfast most days. They're in the fridge ready to go, so why not?m

Wow, i like the way you cut the veggies. Please can you let me know the brand of the knife that you are using. I am looking for a good knife to cut vegetables without making much of a scratch on the cutting tray.

I love the budget friendly cooking shows due to the fact that the cost of living has secretly skyrocketed and salaries for most have plummeted. Eating healthy for a reasonable price is a must. It is amazing what an instant pot can do in the right hands 😀🙏

All good, but people please use fresh ground peanut butter instead of the Whole Foods brand stuff. They sneak in palm oil which isn't very healthy for you and is very unhealthy for our planet. Yes, Borneo is nearly gone as a result of palm plantations.

    Otherwise, your videos are great!

I just watched a good, short video that explains the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvKgnRPThKI

I have a tip about tinned tomatoes. Apparently it is best to buy plum tomatoes and chop them yourself than buy pre chopped as the quality of the tomatoes are better. Makes sense when you think about it that they throw odd bits of chopped tomatoes together x

All of these recipes are right up my tummy’s alley. I’ve decided to go back to eating healthier more consistently and making a big batch of a recipe that can provide many meals would work to keep me on track. The husband would hate every one, but he can make his Kraft dinner and burgers. He’s a big boy.

I save all my veggie scraps in a bag in my freezer. Once a week I make a homemade veggie stock in my instant pot. I add the frozen veggies and any other veggies that need to get used. Then I use that stock in all my recipes for the week. It's free, saved on waste and it's healthier than the store bought stock or bouillon cubes, in my opinion.

I slow cook oats in my instant pot over night. Sultanas (lots) for sweetness, large chunks of apple (again, lots), cinnamon, sunflower seeds (for crunch) and a combination of buckwheat and oats.

10 minutes to do the prep. for three recipes. Instant pot did all the cooking work. Both easy on the wallet and on time.👍 All three very healthy also. Instant pot is the way to go. Great video. Do one with nutritional yeast for b12 vitamins.
