I love this soup! It’s so easy and is surprisingly savory given how few seasonings are added. I’ve made it with regular brown/green lentils and with du Puy lentils, it’s great either way.
Thank you for sharing this budget friendly recipe. Budgeting better with my groceries has been heavy on my mind with all the rising prices. This kind of video is so helpful for me and I am sure many others right now. I try to budget best I can but I know I can always learn more. I make cooking videos too so you know I’m making lots of food so every penny I can save on groceries counts. I hope that we can continue to learn from each other. Never stop learning and growing!
For the oatmeal, Ur video says to stir everything before starting IP but ur written instructions says to stir everything except the mashed bananas, that was last added. Which is best and why? 🙂
For the lentil cabbage recipe, How much vegetable broth to use instead of the bouillon cube?
I have just purchased your cookbook it arrived yesterday I plan to look at over tonight I’m very excited and can’t wait for your next book to come out everything looks so delicious thank you for all the YouTube recipes and demonstrating how to do it
I know this is an old video but I think a great alternative to water for the oatmeal is to make your own oat milk! its super easy to make by using a cup or two of oats and water blended and strained.
I had chronic fatigue and excessive hair loss 🙁 . I went vegan and all my problems were gone! Now I feel extremely happy and energized! Also, my hair is knee length!❤️ I feel like I'm thriving!😌 I believe it's bc of all the rich vitamins in every food!!🥝🍐🥰 new follower here!!!!!
My instant pot has completely replaced canned beans for me. I used to hate using dried beans because it took so long to soak and deal with them. Now I get dry beans and lentils in 25lb bags and haven't bought a can of beans in 6 months. It's saved me so much money, and I know what's in my food because I made it from scratch – I can control the salt content, and no gross can goo to rinse off either!
My family and partner said I would use it twice and never touch it again, but now it lives on my kitchen counter and I use it at least twice a week. I mostly use it for beans, since you don't HAVE to soak them, so I don't. If you leave the salt out until the end, they still cook well and get tender.
Because of it I have dahl or Cuban style black beans for breakfast most days. They're in the fridge ready to go, so why not?m
Wow, i like the way you cut the veggies. Please can you let me know the brand of the knife that you are using. I am looking for a good knife to cut vegetables without making much of a scratch on the cutting tray.
I love the budget friendly cooking shows due to the fact that the cost of living has secretly skyrocketed and salaries for most have plummeted. Eating healthy for a reasonable price is a must. It is amazing what an instant pot can do in the right hands 😀🙏
All good, but people please use fresh ground peanut butter instead of the Whole Foods brand stuff. They sneak in palm oil which isn't very healthy for you and is very unhealthy for our planet. Yes, Borneo is nearly gone as a result of palm plantations.
I finally figured out why I love your recipes so much. Of course they are delicious, but I too hate bell peppers and I now realise you don't use them as much as other chefs!! Love your tips here too Nisha! Your videos are always a pleasure to watch and I almost always learn something new! 🙂
I have a tip about tinned tomatoes. Apparently it is best to buy plum tomatoes and chop them yourself than buy pre chopped as the quality of the tomatoes are better. Makes sense when you think about it that they throw odd bits of chopped tomatoes together x
Thanks so much Nisha. A vegan here for 10 years and I bought a Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus Pressure Cooker 10 in 1, 8 Qt So refreshing to see the alternatives and time saved. I'll be ordering your book as well. A new subscriber as well. Thanks so much!
All of these recipes are right up my tummy’s alley. I’ve decided to go back to eating healthier more consistently and making a big batch of a recipe that can provide many meals would work to keep me on track. The husband would hate every one, but he can make his Kraft dinner and burgers. He’s a big boy.
I save all my veggie scraps in a bag in my freezer. Once a week I make a homemade veggie stock in my instant pot. I add the frozen veggies and any other veggies that need to get used. Then I use that stock in all my recipes for the week. It's free, saved on waste and it's healthier than the store bought stock or bouillon cubes, in my opinion.
I like your videos, thanks for sharing great recipes. I have one constructive feedback though, you talk so soft and there is a music on the background too, which is hard to hear you unless I increase the volume from normal level for other channels.
I slow cook oats in my instant pot over night. Sultanas (lots) for sweetness, large chunks of apple (again, lots), cinnamon, sunflower seeds (for crunch) and a combination of buckwheat and oats.
10 minutes to do the prep. for three recipes. Instant pot did all the cooking work. Both easy on the wallet and on time.👍 All three very healthy also. Instant pot is the way to go. Great video. Do one with nutritional yeast for b12 vitamins.
Something I just learned is most stores if you ask will half or quarter things like cabbage/melons then they wrap up the rest to sell it to some els. 😉
You ruined my life by having such good quality videos I watched on my lunch break and making me eat more plant based tsk tsk tsk lol 😂😆😂
a mini rant against green bell peppers. love it.

I like that you don’t like peppers as much as me and still use them.
I wonder if subbing garbanzo beans for the lentils may make it taste more like a minestrone. 😋 🥣
The subtitles are not in sync…. great recipes 😀

I’m not a lover of green peppers.I am glad it is not just me!

Otherwise, your videos are great!
I just watched a good, short video that explains the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvKgnRPThKI

Love your channel, shame you don't enjoy green bell peppers, they're my favorite! I never liked red bell peppers

This is amazing!! Thank you so much!!

lol I hate bell peppers! And they are always in vegetarian and vegan cooking!
Thanks so much Nisha. A vegan here for 10 years and I bought a Instant Pot Duo Evo Plus Pressure Cooker 10 in 1, 8 Qt

Me: looking at my water bill in Hawaii like water is not free 😂. Love the video !
thirty six five? three sixty five! haha
Thank you for making affordable delicious recipes!!!
A whole can of coconut milk might not be the healthiest route to go for morning oats lol. Good recipes nonetheless.
Thank you for all the great info! Love the channel
I just received your cookbook and will be making my first recipe out of it tonight!! Beautiful photography by the way.
Wow, they are the same color.

I switched over to using Pasilla peppers in place of green bell peppers. Way better flavor

Thank you, this came out pretty good.
You're so amazing, thank you!
3 great meals. Thank you
Where do you shop for bulk things in NY, Whole Foods?
organic ingredients are so cheap over there compared to anywhere i've lived (Aus, NZ and UK) I need to move to US, that whole foods seems legit!
I slow cook oats in my instant pot over night. Sultanas (lots) for sweetness, large chunks of apple (again, lots), cinnamon, sunflower seeds (for crunch) and a combination of buckwheat and oats.
Her voice is so calming

If you don't like green bell peppers, jalapenos are cheap and have more flavor.
I made the Mexican Rice and Beans for a Super Bowl party and it was a hit! Thank you!

someone try the red cabbage instead the green? I really like the recipe but I would like to try with red. Better for health the red one. Thank
