yeah doing this in newfoundland isn't an option. our milk for 2L is 6$ gv eggs are 6$, 2lbs of rice is 10$ and ground turkey is 6$ a lb but we can get a pack of hamburger meat for 10$ with 3 rolls in it, our bread is also 3.50$ a loaf sometimes goes on sale for 2 for 5$ tho. wish we could do all that for just 70$ a week
When I'm budgeting instead of cake mix, we make peanut butter banana muffins. We use the bananas that start to brown, a scoop of peanut butter and pancake mix (I usually sprinkle chocolate chips on the top too) I usually have pancake mix and peanut butter so it doesn't hurt the budget and still gives us a treat.
I love to see budget meals. I can easily change things to my plant based meals. My son isn't plant based. So I tend to make 2 different foods. I love veggies he doesn't.
You can actually make your sandwiches (if it is say ham and cheese) and freeze that. I told my friend, and she has never looked back. Does all the sandwiches for the kids on Sunday, and they take it out in the morning, and defrosted by the time lunch time arrives.
🎉Oh WOW! Hello from Russia Moscow❤❤❤ I used to live in Tulsa for about half of my life and its so nice to come across your channel! You have so many great ideas here and I actually follow your advices even here at home💥🥰
An honest question…how do deal with shopping at the lowest price but knowing it’s also lowest quality ingredients? I have been trying to get my Grocery bill Down and I’ve seen tons of videos on frugal shopping but I can’t find myself compromising quality and the health of my kids just to save a few bucks every week? What advice do you Have for someone with my dilemma?
That's 2 and 1/2 weeks of meals for two people! What do you do if your children won't eat what you've made? I used to look at other packaging in the store for meal ideas. Prepackaged grits in a variety pack, the frozen dinner isle for example, then copy for a whole lot less.
Unsalted butter as an option in the way of saving cents to make dollars…salt is cheap and they charge for it at the price of butter by the weight. buying unsalted butter saves you a little bit more!
I love how excited you are that they have grits! I'm a South Carolina girl and a grocery store would go out of business if they didn't carry grits! I've been eating them since I was a baby and they're one of my go to comfort foods! SO GOOD and you can do a lot of things with them!
Great tips! I end up spending too much when I go food shopping. I need to spend wisely. And I like the idea of buying an ingredient that can be used in multple recipes. Thanks for the very good advice.
You could have save more on not buying refried been (making your own) and the individual jar of apple sauce is cheaper and you can portion it easily in plastic containers for lunch

You could have also made biscuits and sausage gravy.

But why did you buy cake mix or pancake mix, when it’s cheaper doing it from scratch?
