Learn how to make crispy hashbrowns just like you get at a diner! These are super simple and only require a real potato, butter, oil and a technique. That’s it.
protip: if it's not a spur the moment thing, I pre shred my potatoes for hash browns the night before (cause I always make hash for breakfast on the weekends) and put them in the fridge with a cheese cloth or tea towel to cover it (you don't want an air tight seal) to dry. frigid air from the refrigerator does really well at getting the moisture out and makes them crisper. plus I hate ringing out shredded potatoes, it's too tedious to me lol
I bought the big bag shredded hash from Walmart so thanks for adding the little info at the end of your video! Alrighty then going to make me diner style breakfast. Thanks
I love them outside crispy, and inside a little mushy. Doesn't have to be flashy, just plain ol'e potatoes that's it. I love em with ketchup or hot sauce. mmm great with overeasy eggs and bacon.
Bro, I am a 17 years old Moroccan girl that never tasted hash brown or even heard of it until I saw a short video about the American breakfast a while ago and I was like "I WANT THIS" and I found your video thank u so much! I will try it tomorrow and say my results since its 3 am now lol
I knew about rinsing to get rid of the starch and then usually just squeezed them really good to get the water out. Never thought to then dry them further, nor to cover them while frying. Thanks for the tips!
Don’t use as much oil as this guy and you’re fine. Had to throw away the hash browns cause I could literally spit out oil onto the plate when I took a bite
i jus made these nd burnt tf outta them 😅

Pretty good technique! I like it. Never have rinsed my potatoes before! Will be trying that tomorrow!
I’m making it with lard instead of seed oil. Seems to turn out better
When you flip them, do you use the lid again, and for how long?

To much work for just hashbrowns
Bake your potato the day before shred and cook the following day.
Are these the same as Latkes?
need to let my potatoes dry out more and add butter!!!!
Now I'm in the mood for breakfast (at 130 am). Lol
I made your hash brown recipe this morning and it turned out perfect. Thanks for sharing your pro tips!
Keep in mind this is not a task for the clumsy, I have like 5 holes in my hand now 😂
'Merica… no wonder there is an obesity and diabetes problem rampant… in Asia, they eat congee with hardly any fat… Sad!

If you wanna have an easier time drying, use a salad spinner if you happen to have one! Does an amazing job!
watching 2022. Great now i can make hashbrowns thanx x.
Eggs looked dry, and bacon wasn't crispy enough, hash browns looked good though
I need to teach you how to use a peeler
Horrible; don't eat that shit.
So gave this a whirl, it was a hit.
Don't think I can go back to frozen bag of hashbrowns.
Thank you!
Thank you for this excellently well explained recipe! ❤️😍
No one has to be obese. You can either be obese or you can do keto with intermittent fasting..
And a go at this morning better than Dennys thanks as we live in the UK we can't get them so again a big thank you.
Wonderful….you good person…
Diners don't make their hash brown in pans, they are thrown on a grill.
What type of skillet pan is that? My stainless still pan gets everything stuck regardless of butter or oil.
Man, I'd pay $25 for that meal right now at 3:05 AM! 😋
Paper towels is bad idea

In case some has tried drying this out in a dehydrator before frying to remove the moisture let me know. I wonder if it would come out crispier.
Yum this great✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️

I bet they'd be beautiful with some grated cheese and chopped chilies added to the potato mixture.
it keeps falling apart
I have been having trouble getting that golden brown color on my HB's, now I know why!
