I hope another people also understand that packed dog food causes different type of diseases and cancer to the dogs. This is the right way to keep animals at home.

Has anyone had an issue with their dogs having diarrhea that homemade food helped to correct. Do you Dona slow transition to the homemade or just stop the kibble and start the homemade

This is really a great recipe! I make something similar on the stovetop and it takes a few hours – can't wait to try the instant-pot version. Thank you for the encouragement!

What age do you suggest owners start dogs on home cooked food? At what ratio do you suggest use to switch from kibble to homemade food?

I love this kind of content. Our pets deserve to eat real whole food just as we do, not dry & can food packed with preservatives & such.

Just made this tonight, I have a very picky shih tzu and he loved it, I also have one that has a sensitive stomach and is on a high dollar can food I'm wondering if she can eat this? She has gotten sick on people food so I'm alittle leary of trying her on it but I would love to try her on it, she eats limited diet food now, anyone have any success with dogs with sensitive stomach being able to eat this?

I tried this recipe and my dogs love it. I did leave the coconut oil out since it’s extremely high in saturated fats and can potentially cause heart problems when they’re older.

Dogs are carnivores. Why would you add all the extra crap to their food?
And WHY are you cooking it and killing all the nutrients. Feed raw, meat, bones and organs.

Lentils and peas have been linked to heart disease in dogs. Small amounts infrequently has been approved.

You can make your own Greek yogurt in the instapot with nothing but a tbsp of existing Greek yogurt, cheesecloth and some time. Its SO EASY!! Try it!

Thanks! I do something very similar to this. Only difference is that I use white rice (I was told white rice was better for dogs) and I cook whole eggs with the food. Then I grind the eggs shells and all in the Magic Bullet with some water, and add it back.

Well time to buy a new kitchen gadget! 🙂 Thanks for this recipe because I didn’t know where to start and knew they needed extra nutrients. How long does this amount last you guys?

I cook chicken liver/hearts(its cheap) with crushed chicken carcass (I buy a whole chicken, eat the meat and crush the carcass for them)… with pasta and a few about to go bad veggies…. a little olive oil. Dogs will love it.
I do that twice a week, but the problem is that once they like that stuff.. its hard to make them eat their dry commercial food.
So what i will do is that I will save a little container of the homemade food and add some water to it… then just mix a little amount of it with the dry food.. and they will finish it no problem.

So would u freeze the majority & keep a Tupperware in fridge for a few days??
Have u ever worked out the cost of one instpot’s worth compared to store bought?
I’ve been feeding my dog FreshPet for years. He’s super finicky, but I think homemade w the proper supplements sounds awesome. I’m a vegan, but he isn’t so I’m not opposed to his needs & choices. 😉
    Great video!!!

Do I only add calcium, coconut oil and turmeric for supplements or do I have to add the ones you provided in the description as well?

Tx for sharing consider instead of peas and beans to use zucchini and broccoli, instead of the filler rice to add up more meat. Also they need raw bones for calcium and the exercise. See Dr Peter Dobias and Dr Karen Becker. Prayers to a good journey.

Hi. I want to try this recipe and wondering if calcium is the only supplement you added to the dog food? Do you also give a multivitamin too? You have 3 links ( calcium, multivitamin, and joint ). Do you give your dogs all three? the multivitamin already has calcium in it.

Sooooo happy that I’ve found you! My 2 schnauzers cannot eat store bought or medical dog food and i too alternate their chicken breast and ground Turkey as well!

Where do you find your ground chicken? I am in Texas and i have searched high and low and can’t find ground chicken.

Thank you for your recipes i am excited to see how my two loves them!❤🐶🐶❤

I followed this recipe for my beloved dogs. They love it so much. I have been feeding this recipe to them for at least 6 month. I never give them any commercial / bought dog food . However, I recently noticed that my dog was staying in one place and not eating at all. The Vet said my dog have pancreatitis and was confined overnight. The vet also said do not give them the food that Im feeding them due to too much fat on the food.

Im able to take my dog home and changed the diet to a more simplified home cook dog food.

To my co- Dog Mom : Just Always ask your Vet what is best for them.
